April 11, 2011 – Merced City Police Receives Report of Grand Jury Tampering

The Merced City Police have not been named in Forte’s Grand Jury Complaint.

Due to the grand jury tampering Forte believes took place in the Merced County Administration building (right next door to the police department) where County Counsel James Fincher has his office and where the Grand Jury meets, Forte took the evidence he had and presented it to the Merced City Police last Monday, April 11, 2011.

Forte requested a police report and investigation be done regarding Fincher’s actions in advising the Grand Jury to end the investigation into Forte’s complaint.

After waiting for 3 1/2 hours, Lieutenant Matt Williams received Forte and his wife in a conference room.  (Forte told Williams he would have waited for two days in the lobby if it would get him an audience.)  For the next 2 1/2 hours, Williams respectfully and cordially listened as Forte presented his report against County Counsel Fincher, including background information.

Williams did inform Forte that maybe the FBI was the department to handle such complaint, but that he would see what he could do.  Forte stressed that all Forte was requesting Williams to do was to investigate and write up a police report.

Forte provided subsequent emails with evidence supporting all his statements to the police.
